Spaceport-Galacticport

Even now there exist various projects for spaceports in different countries. Some are already approved, and others being studied for possibilities.

One has to realize that before a construction of these characteristics, use and operations can take place there, there is a substantial amount of research carried out to evaluate the possibilities that may involve and/or affect interested companies, governments air authorities, etc. As we will show you here, such research has been carried out for a long time and now, today, we are talking about near realities .

Depending on the original projects of the companies and the technologies that are going to be used in their operations (especially concerning take off and landing) the spaceports or Galacticports will vary in their characteristics. Some will be built specifically for space travelling, while others will be an extension or adaptation of conventional airports.

Virgin Galactic is building the American Spaceport now, with the collaboration of the renowned architect Norman Foster, in the state of New Mexico, U.S.A.

There, Virgin Galactic will have their headquarters and will start operations of Spaceline. This will probably not be the only one, as the company continues searching for others in appropriate places around the world to extend their operations. One possibility would be to use the Kiruna airport in the north of Sweden, place from which the space tourists would leave directly to enjoy the impressive spectacle of the Northern Lights or "Auroras Borealis". Simply fascinating!

Galactic Suite will build their base on a Caribbean island and will include one runway of 3km using magnetic technology for the take off of their Spaceships, based on the Maglev technology of magnetic levitation, and a conventional runway for the landing of both, commercial and suborbital flights..

Space Adventures is working on projects of Spaceports in Singapore and Emirates.
